Stirchley Printworks Artist Residency (August 2024 - January 2025)
I was one of four Artists in Residency at Stirchley Printworks, with my residency taking place between August 2024 and January 2025. In that time, I was taught different processes and got to experiment with linoprinting, screen printing, etching, and monoprinting, and then was able to use the studio to create my own work. During this time, I created the artwork for the Mela Guitar Quartet album ‘Overtures & Dances’. The main piece of work I created using the resources available as a result of the residency was a set of prints that act as a companion score to my piece ‘Shore Signalling (or, will you meet me I will meet you), also composed during this time. The process by which I composed each cell of the piece was also applied to arranging some shapes I had lasercut for me, with the result being fifty-five cards with each cell and accompanying shapes.
